MTC members help shape our community by being the "checks and balances" organization that effective city government requires. We research civic issues, provide strong and opinionated input to the Malibu City Council, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors and elected members of the state legislature as well as our U.S. Congressional representatives..

We cover all types of issues: zoning requests in residential, business, and rural areas; traffic light coordination and safety, improper grading, neighborhood degradation, parks improvement, keeping out offshore oil drilling, and care of our beaches.

MTC volunteer efforts on behalf of the community have required thousands of hours of volunteer time. The work to assure that our community retains its safety and its beauty — amid a burgeoning Southland population and a landscape packed with voracious developers — is not easy. To leave nature as close as possible to its original state, requires hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours, as well as a healthy nest egg. We are funded solely by membership dues and donations.
